On Easter Saturday Rotary The Entrance put on a fantastic bunny hunt for the Central Coast community. This event was originally organised for 2021 but due to the flooding and Covid it had to be cancelled three times.
This event was put together to bring the community together as one. To bring families to share a special occasion together, as Covid and the floods kept people apart last year. This event was also organised to help all the local businesses that were affected by Covid and the floods, by giving them free advertising.
Flyers and brochures from business were put in an Easter bag (every child that participated received one) with drink, chips, stickers and a chocolate Easter bunny, as well as special gifts from Tuggerah Bunnings and the
Lakes Family Dental. We had prize give aways, where every child that partcipated in the bunny hunt had a chance of winning fantastic prizes that were donated by our sponsors – Bikes r Us Long Jetty donated a kids bike worth $228, Flip out donated x 10 vouchers, Bateau Bay10 Pin Bowling donated x2 family passes and Central Coast Tree Tops donated a voucher worth $184.
The children and families went on an adventure, needing to solve rhymes and riddles that would help them find 10 hiding Easter bunnies in Long Jetty. Once they found the bunnies they could colour it off on their special passport. At the finish line the children collected their Easter bag full of goodies. Then there were lots of actvites to do: make a Easter card, Easter mask, puppet, colour in, relax in the sun on the picnic rugs with cushions by the lake and guess how many chocolates were in the glass jar. There was a free spin and win for adults with prizes as well drinks and the coffee man. The children and adults even enjoyed a special visit from the
EASTER BUNNY, handing out chocolates to everyone and waving at all the cars that passed by.
Thank you to all Members who helped on the day, it was a fantastic day. There was lots of positive feedback and we were very blessed with beautful weather.
